Magain lab's page
This website shows our research and other work-related stuff
My name is Nicolas Magain. I am an Assistant Professor (chargé de cours) at the University of Liège (Belgium), in the departement of Biology, Ecology and Evolution (BEE) and the research institute InBioS. This both my personal page and the page of my lab. There are two main research topics in the lab: evolution biology and conservation biology. For the first one, we study the evolution of lichen symbioses. We use mostly phylogenetics and genomics to study these symbioses, in particular symbioses between Peltigera fungi and Nostoc cyanobacteria. For the second goal, we try to generate scientific information relevant to improve conservation practices in Belgium and everywhere. I am also the curator of the herbarium of the University.
