PhD Students

Elise Lebreton

Elise is a FRIA PhD student who is working on systematics and ecology of lichens, fungi and bacteria growing on leaves in tropical forests.

Lea Mouton

Lea is actively involved in organizing the logistics and teaching for the specialized master in conservation biology and biodiversity management, in addition to her thesis on ferns (main supervisor: Alain Vanderpoorten). Lea's projects include quantifying epiphytic fern and bryophyte biodiversity in Peru, and beta-diversity of plants in Macaronesia.

Lucie Lelotte

Lucie is a FRIA PhD student, in collaboration with Bram Van Moorter (NINA, Norway). She is working on quantifying the cumulative effect of habitat loss and fragmentation due to anthropogenic infrastructure and disturbance on wild reindeer habitat in southern Norway, and to further investigate their implications for individual fitness and population performance. To address this main objective, the project structures along three research lines: (1) seasonal habitat loss and its evolution throughout wild reindeer annual life cycle, (2) wild reindeer habitat fragmentation due to movement barriers and the loss of functional connectivity, and (3) relationships between habitat loss and fragmentation, and individual fitness and population performance..

Anne-Laure Geboes

Anne-Laure is studying bioacoustics and conservation of the Corn bunting (Bruant proyer, Emberiza calandra) in Belgium and Europe. She is also involved with teaching activities in the specialized master in conservation biology and biodiversity management.

Laurent Gohy

Laurent is managing the molecular lab. He is a real pro in everything DNA extractions and PCR. He also has some duties with the herbarium, contributing to the management of collections

Ludovic is actively involved in teaching botany and conservation to the students of the specialized master in conservation biology and biodiversity management.
